When ExecTech began consulting my dental practice, we were already producing $961,974 per year, which is high for a single doctor practice with one hygienist.

However, during the last 12 months, our Production increased by 12% to $1,095,357 and profits increased by 26%.

That is all well and good, but the true value to me is in the growth I have experienced in leadership skills, and the more restful sleep I enjoy, knowing my business is running more smoothly that ever in my long dental career.

It seems as though the practice is now on auto pilot. The staff is well trained. Each position is well defined, and there are daily statistical reports that show the production of each position.

I think the supervisory role data I have received from ExecTech is the most valuable part of my training. In addition to my meetings with my consultant, there have been weekly coaching sessions from the coaching staff. The coaching sessions deal with People Skills like communication, identifying the emotional tone of those around you, dealing with difficult personalities, prioritizing, financial planning, employee relations and on and on.

I feel I have become a much more effective leader; certainly a more confident one . . . and yet I’m sure I have only scratched the surface in understanding and applying the extensive data contained in the material I have received from ExecTech.

Could you gain the knowledge on your own from manuals and books and DVDs? Of course, but the vast majority of people need to have their feet held to the fire, or else procrastination could very well extend the learning curve beyond those critical periods that determine success or failure.

I feel the time and money spent with ExecTech has been well spent and I know the lessons learned will serve me in the future ventures I conduct.

We have been receiving “Tips and Ideas” articles from ExecTech for years. For every tip we applied, we were successful getting the results. After many years, we decided to give them a call and see what they can offer.

Let the numbers do the talking: We have increased our patient visits by 40% and new referrals by 55%. Most importantly, our 30+ staff members are truly working as a team and team morale has increased significantly. We were voted the best physical therapy clinic in the area and our Yelp review average is 4 stars.

ExecTech’s approach is not a cookie cutter one, but a client based one. Their hands-on and in-the-practice method really impressed us and we decided to sign on. We thought we were doing OK at the time. Wow, were we wrong. They opened our eyes to our potentials!

We have a very good working relationship with our consultant. We can speak to him on any issue we face in the practice. He generously offers his expertise and helps us tremendously on getting our practice on track, especially in staff recruiting, staff management and really managing the clinic by statistics.

As owner and manager, we have a lot less headache now so we can concentrate our energy into developing new programs and possibly opening up another clinic. We are grateful to ExecTech for our success. It is one of the best investments we have ever made.

Thank you!

I have better control of my practice. Income and production went up as a direct result. I’m free to do things, buy a house, go on vacations and not just work all the time.

ExecTech is like a coach. It’s just like the Bulls when they won the championships. Even Michael Jordan needed a coach to direct him to win championships. You might be the best dentist ever, but you still need someone to help direct you.

ExecTech helped me be a better executive. Organizing, hiring, management decisions, how to fire, employee handbook, case presentations, reactivation and so on.

Access is important to me. I have good access to the consultants. They made me feel comfortable. I have never been afraid to ask a question.

For example, I tend to go in a lot of directions at times and lose my focus. If I get interested in lowering my handicap in golf, I lose my focus with dentistry. ExecTech redirects your focus. They say, ‘This is what you’re trying to do. So do this and then you can go play golf.’

ExecTech has experience and knowledge. They shorten the learning curve. If they don’t know something, they’ll find somebody who does know.

They make you into a better dentist.

One of the main reasons we got into consulting was I wanted to spend more time with my son. Before, I was working five days a week. It was so stressful.

I now have a three-day work week so I can spend four days with my son. We’re working less hours and have less stress.

ExecTech is like a breath of fresh air, like springtime. We did a lot of research on other companies. The other ones are more cookie cut. ExecTech was more dental-oriented and focused on us. It showed us how to get what we wanted.

Before starting with ExecTech, there were three doctors: my mom, my brother and I. We all had different management philosophies and a lot of conflict. We were working long hours and had lots of stress. Our employees were a constant problem.

ExecTech helped find us find a mutual management agreement. That was a major thing. It resolved the conflicts.

Our stress level was reduced because now we can do the kind of dentistry we want.

I would say I wish I had more of an open mind earlier in my dental career because I would have been so much further. All I can say to other dentists is do it, because you’re going to find out that you’re going to get a lot of benefits out of this.

Before ExecTech I refused to have a consultant come into our office, did not want help. I don’t know if it’s being defensive of what people would be telling me of what they thought about my practice. But then once I joined ExecTech, I realized that, that whole train of thought was different.

The biggest improvement with ExecTech was getting new patients in; learning how to deal with employees; getting my office policy in place so that I was protected; knowing how to write up employees if they didn’t perform up to par what we expected, so that I should be protected should an employee try to file for unemployment afterwards. There was a lot of legal stuff that came with ExecTech which was really, really helpful.

It increased our new patient flow to the point where things got busier in our office. With new patient flow we got more production, which led to more collections. It all goes hand in hand. New patient flow is the life of any dental practice.

What I like most about ExecTech is the hand-holding on running a practice with bi-weekly meetings with your consultant. I also like the review of statistics and setting goals weekly or monthly.

ExecTech is like a recipe. You know if you’re making a cake you’re going to put this amount of this in there, and that in there, and that in there. You mix it all up, you follow the recipe, you’re going to get a beautiful cake. It’s the same thing.

What I like most is that expert help is literally a phone call away. If I have a problem, I don’t have to sit on it and brew over it and worry about it more than an hour. I know that my consultant will get back to me right away. It’s a learning experience. You have a sounding board that you can trust. It’s brought me back to my career.

When I first started practicing, I loved dentistry. That’s why I went into it. I couldn’t wait to treat patients, help patients, and that was truly my passion in life. I also wanted to have my own practice.

I slowly started realizing the challenges that managing a practice offered. Some of them were worse than others. I had a lot of problems with finding good staff. That can definitely do a number on you because if you have a bad staff person you can absolutely lose your practice, lose your patients, lose money. So all the effort you put into doing nice, gorgeous dentistry and taking care of your patients, if you don’t have good staff to back you up, you’ve lost. Boy, did I have a share of that.

I was starting to not enjoy dentistry because of the problems I was having with practice management. Of course, when you go to school they teach you dentistry but they don’t teach you management. You’re like a little fish thrown in the ocean – you have to learn how to swim and not get eaten up. It was literally like that.

ExecTech was the right choice for me. My consultant was always available. If my consultant was on vacation or something, someone else was always available. It just seemed that everyone went beyond the call of duty to help me. At times I felt like I was going astray and not being focused. There was always that hand that gently nudges you in the right direction.

I truly think that they helped bring me back to my passion. They provide tools for you to know how to manage your practice without having them in there. It’s one thing when a management company comes in and trains your staff for you. But then once they leave, you don’t know how to do it. ExecTech actually teaches the doctor how to do it so that when they’re not there you can do it yourself. That’s invaluable.

ExecTech has given me peace of mind. I have better control over the office. I recognize when things aren’t going the way they should go and can put in corrections.

ExecTech has helped me with patients and staff as well as in my personal relationships. My relationship with my wife has always been good, but it’s better now. We realized our communication can always improve.

Our income is up by 37%. My current staff is very good, the best staff I’ve ever had. That is why the numbers are doing as well as they are.

Statistical management is a great tool. Once I did what ExecTech said to do, assign each staff member a statistic, the numbers really took off. They feel like they are part of the practice. Instead of trying to single-handedly do it myself, I got out of the staff’s way. If I’m not here for a week, the office continues to grow.

I like the honesty that was displayed by everybody we dealt with at ExecTech. The information that they gave us confirmed a lot what we kind of intuitively knew. But we were now able to support our intuition.

When I walk out the door, I no longer think about the office until the next morning.

I have created more time within a day to do my work. I’m still practicing five to six days per week, but I choose to practice that way. I could probably do everything I do in three days and have four days off, but this is a way of life for me.

I like ExecTech’s two-fold approach with consulting and coaching. Consulting deals with the business end and coaching trains you on specific skills. It makes a big difference.

ExecTech is a management program unlike anything you’ve ever done. ExecTech had me look at areas that I had never looked at. It’s not just a numbers game.

After eight years in a solo gynecology practice, I was frustrated, unhappy and approaching professional burn-out. Despite a very busy practice and a heavy patient load which was requiring long hours at the office and work taken home over the weekends, I was only paying myself 50% of the time.

My staff was unhappy and dysfunctional and I had one employee that was covertly undermining both me and my office manager. The only thing keeping me from closing the practice and possibly retiring from medicine was an office lease that I could not legally extricate myself from.

My consultant was extremely generous with her time and her talents even before any contract was signed; helping me to make sure ExecTech was a good fit for me and would meet my needs and expectations. After signing the contract we immediately got to work on improving my practice and after a year of intensive consulting and counseling I was working more efficiently, I had a superb staff and practice revenue was up. I again enjoyed being a physician.

I recommend ExecTech without reservation.

My production has increased by over 100%. We’re moving into the upper income ranges.

I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I’m having a ball. There is no mystery to succeeding. It’s a great feeling.

I recommend ExecTech to anybody that lacks skills as an executive no matter what field.

Before starting with ExecTech, I didn’t know how to run a business.

Because of ExecTech, I now know how to run a business. I know what I’m doing. The learning process is broken down into understandable steps and each step is doable. If something isn’t working I know why it isn’t working and I can make the appropriate adjustments. There isn’t a roller coaster feeling any more, it’s simple, it isn’t a mystery.

I like ExecTech because they taught me what to do including how to train and handle staff. My office is happy and everyone communicates well. There are no hidden agendas; everything is up front. It’s a win-win situation. It really is. It’s well worth the money and time you spend. If anything it’s almost cheap.

P.S. If I had read something like this from someone else five years ago, I would have asked, “How much did they pay this guy to write this?” Well, it’s real.

ExecTech is fast at getting things when I need something very quickly. It’s not something I expected. For example, I had a problem with a staff member involving harassment of an employee. It was a mess. Within 12 hours, ExecTech had a lawyer and a program of how to handle it to make sure that this didn’t go any farther than just a complaint by an employee.

Before ExecTech, I needed someone to come in and share the responsibility. I had a potential partner, but we had a lot of disagreements. Everything from becoming 50/50 partners to ‘Get out of here. I don’t want to see you again.’ So I brought ExecTech in to help us put together this partnership agreement so it would be profitable for both of us.

ExecTech helped us work out an agreement and goals. To make everything work, we had a make-break point at about one million. While we were with ExecTech, we hit it and then went to $1.2 million. We had about a 40% income increase.

Another time I wanted a legal policy in place. ExecTech got me another lawyer, who happens to also be an MD. He got in touch with us and gave us the information.

Another ExecTech strength is the management technology. If I used everything it that big black binder and applied it 100%, I could triple the practice.

The third thing is ExecTech coaching. I had a good time doing those modules. My wife, associates and some of my staff have gotten and enjoyed coaching. It helps them to do their jobs better. The responsibility level of the staff that are getting the coaching is higher than the staff members who are not.

ExecTech does what they say they’re going to do. They have a lot of business experience and a good collection of outside experts. They are ethical, they have the technology and they get the job done.

I like that ExecTech has a lot of experience with medical practices. I was able to call other doctors (clients) on the telephone who had worked with ExecTech and get an impartial opinion as to how they felt the program worked for them and what were their strengths and weaknesses. It was a fairly straightforward decision to go with ExecTech once we talked with past or current clients.

As physicians, we spend 13 years of training after High School. Not even one percent of any of those years is devoted to the business side and the management side of running your own practice. For me, ExecTech is a well-spent investment.

I had all the training I needed to see and treat patients, but as far as running a practice, I didn’t have experience or training. I didn’t feel comfortable wearing the CEO hat of my practice.

I was working five days a week, some Saturdays, and taking work home with me. It was burdensome, and it affected the quality of my life. I sometimes had a sour attitude because of the total time it took to get things done. Before we were finished the first year consulting with ExecTech, I had much more control over the number of hours I worked per week. I was able to do the things I needed to do, but in much less time.

As an organization, we lacked internal structure. For example, we didn’t have a clear policy manual in place and we weren’t totally OSHA compliant. Soon after we started with ExecTech, our consultant helped us compile a clear Policy Manual. He cracked the whip to get us completely OSHA compliant, and he made sure we were protected.

I learned from ExecTech many of the qualities, characteristics, traits, and skills needed for effectively communicating with staff. I learned how to reward staff when they do positive things, and to then discipline staff when this is necessary. Staff morale improved! And on the management side, I learned to become a better team leader.

ExecTech consulting also got me to think about running a business from a financial standpoint. What’s our cash flow, debt load, and our assets like? What are we paying our employees? Is it at market, below market, above market? We received a lot of good advice on how to bonus staff, as well.

I learned about typical corporate structure, and I was able to see how different parts of the machine interact with one another.

I enjoy how to be an effective leader and how to make employees feel good about themselves. It is important to get staff to be as productive as they can be. I also learned to minimize expenses by being more cognizant of the cash flow.

I learned to be creative on how to treat my patient database and to make them feel good about the experience they’ve had here. ExecTech forced me to look at our competitors to see how they ran their practices. We routinely get feedback from our patients so we can bowl them over with excellent customer service. This definitely leads to strong word-of-mouth referrals.

ExecTech is like having a personal coach or confidant you can tap on the shoulder and ask for advice pretty much any time. You can feel free to ask stupid questions or pose very challenging questions to the consultant.

There has been a tremendous progress in the area of Team harmony. This has brought “FUN” into dentistry which is being reflected in the strong growth of new patients and treatment acceptance.

Another area of growth has been in my leadership abilities. I feel ExecTech’s program in this area is very powerful as it combines technical data with one-on-one training.

When I first considered whether to sign up with ExecTech, I was skeptical. Fortunately, the consulting I have received with ExecTech has been extremely valuable.

The most important management skill I have learned from ExecTech during the past year has been how to handle employees effectively and efficiently. By choosing the right help and rewarding them appropriately, I have been able to increase my income significantly all while working less than before.

Having a consultant behind me allowed me to tackle problems with more certainty and decisiveness because I know that I can count on them to help in my decision-making.

I would highly recommend ExecTech’s services to anyone who is struggling with trying to figure out how to efficiently run an office. They have certainly made a huge difference to the success of my practice.
